I want to share with you on how things are going, and especially on how my works are progressing so far at the moment, that is, for those who are interested in reading .
Life has been good so far, albeit much busier than what I had initially expected. With the New Year Coming, and that my mother has decided to stay with me here in Australia kinda made things a little but busier, especially ever since my father passed away last year. Nevertheless, having her and my sisters to support me through thick and thin here is a blessing!
Anyway, going away from my personal life to a more DA related things,
I just wanted to give a few heads up and updates on the works that I do here, mostly related to the Historically Wrong Sketch Series which I have been doing so far. Let me just say this, I wanted to Thank all of you for the great supports that you have given me all these time, especially with the suggestions, corrections and any information shared which have helped and shaped the Historically Wrong Sketch Series!
The most effort that I have put so far goes to the Historically Wrong Sketch - Medieval Revisited Series, which portrays Women Warriors of various culture in a fictional historical settings based on the 9th - 15th century era. Before, I wasn't really paying much attention to historical depth when i first started the Original Series, but ever since I tried to explore more onto the medieval history, starting with the first drawing at the 8th of January 2014, till the most recent one at 20th of October 2014, There's more than 46 Drawings of Unique Women Warriors made so far, from the Vikings to the Incas , and at least about 30,000 words of Historical Commentaries in total, making the Medieval Series the largest series in all of the Historically Wrong Sketch Series yet. To me, it's a monumental achievement and I will say this again, It's all thanks to your support. However, The series isn't finished yet, and I'm expecting at least 20 or more drawings which is based on the feedback I have received .
The future plan is outlined below:
- The current HWS Medieval Revisited - Faction Map, currently at V.1.12, will undergo several changes and introduction of several new factions based on the studies I have done in the last 3 months. The current existing factions will also be diversified to fit better in the historical settings.
- New factions/drawings included are based on the following historical state: Tibet, Burmese State, Philippines, Anaasází, Brazilian Amazons Natives, Central Asian Turkic Khaganate, and Zimbabwe.
- Diversification of existing Factions will include the following: Papal State, Sicilian Muslims, Hedjazi Arabs, the Caliphate , Oman, Najdi Arabs, Sweden, Scotland, Ireland, Welsh, Britanny, Hungarian (Revised), Croatian, Serbian, Vlach (Romanian), Permians (possibly, other Uralics), and Ryukyuans (because, why not?)
- Major Revisions on Historical description and proper gallery links to many of the existing drawings. This will be gradually updated and watchers will be notified.
- Expansions on Project Crusades (though, probably at the start next year)
- The Series is planned to be finished by beginning of January/February 2015. By that time, there will be about 60 culturally unique factions depicted in the series
- Possibility of making Historically Wrong Sketch Series - Medieval Revisited into an art-book with detailed historical descriptions, a tribute to the great artist Angus McBride and his amazing works which have inspired me all this time.
- All of these are done in parallel to other projects, like Project Antiquity
, Blood & Steel
and Historical Women War Queens Series
Oh, by the way, My artworks have been depicted in one of Mount and Blade: Warband Mods called "More Women", created by someproteinguy. Feel free to download them mod and offer him the support! For those of you who are not familiar with Mount and Blade: Warband, its a low-fantasy Medieval RPG game that lets you become anything from a small time nobody, to a ruler of a kingdom, with unique factions based on the medieval world.
Anyway, I hope that the completion of the Medieval Series will serve as way to educate people about Women Warriors in Practical Armor, but also, in history of other cultures and parts of the world which we may not have been exposed before. If either of these goal are achieved, then my works will not go in vain
Until then, Let's keep the creative juice flowing!
