Description

به نام آنکه جان را فکرت آموخت
چراغ دل به نور جان برافروخت

"Not Christian, Muslim or Jew, not Hindu, Sufi or Zen.
Come, Come again, whoever you are, come!
Zealots, Heathens, Fire Worshipers or Idolators, Come!
Come even if you broke your penitence a hundred times,
Ours is the portal of Hope, come as you are.
With Life as short as a half taken breath,
Don't plan anything but Love."

- Extracted from the Works of RUMI, Jalal ad-Din Muhammad (1207 - 1273)

A finished work for the Islamic/Persian Geometric Art, A work dedicated to my dearest Greek and Persian friends. I just hope that the colors doesn't ruin the whole piece and please pardon any errors in the Persian Writings. Any feedback would be very much appreciated.

The geometric patterns are divided in 30' Degree angles, which produces 12 stylized symmetrical petals on the Flowers and overall Dodecagon shape. Number 12 has numerous religious significance in the history of Mankind. It is the number for Surat Yusuf in the Qur'an, narrating the important story of Prophet Yusuf (Peace be Upon Him) and his 12 brothers. It is also an important number in Shi'a Islam as it denotes the 12 important Imams in the doctrine of Athna'Ashariyyah. In Christianity, 12 described the number of Apostles of Jesus Christ (Isa al-Masih Ibn Maryam, Peace be Upon Him) in the New Testament.

Listen to this music to take you to a spiritual journey that inspires me with this work of Art:
