Description

A Concept for the upcoming Jurchen (Jin Dynasty) Woman Warrior for the Historically Wrong Sketch Series: Medieval Revisited which is a recreation of the original HWS series based on the  AD 800s - AD 1400s era of warfare.

Inspired by the painting of Jurchen Jorseman J1 by Gambargin and photo of Nanai Children Nanai children by Gambargin

For your information, the Jurchens were not Mongols, neither they were Chinese nor Turkic. In fact, they were a pretty distinct group of people closely related to the Tungusic tribes of Siberia. Perhaps, they are better known from the descendants, the "Manchus" hailing from Manchuria. Known as skilled horsemen and archers, their reputation for martial skills were known to the Korean and Chinese, even as far as defeating the chinese Song dynasty significantly and established themselves as independent powers as Jin Dynasty from 1115 AD - 1234 AD. The Jurchen's resilience in battle and bravery gave even the Mongols a hard time during their conquest of Jin Dynasty, something that left a rather huge impression for the Mongols. Jurchens brilliant military skills were later employed in the Mongols campaign against the Chinese Southern Song, the Koreans, and and their western campaign that bested the Turks of central Asian, Persians and Eastern Europeans.

I meant the manchu language..There is a writer I like who is married to a chinese woman from Manchuria and they see themselves as slighly different with their mixed Manchu ancestry.
